It is strange how I am hearing more and more about the struggles of weight loss and finances. More and more people are saying that they are struggling with both issues these days. It is also strange to hear that more and more people are working to regain control of both issues at the same time. I know that I am one of those people.
This tells me a lot of things. That I use shopping and food to destress and comfort myself instead of dealing with the issues. How am I going to change these habits so that I am healthy physically and financially?
Somethings that I am putting into place as of today.
1. I am going to put together the lawn chairs at the new house and start sitting on the screened in back porch and just chill. Maybe even do some meditation.
2. Get back to the gym (which is free).
3. Stop eating just because I am stressed and just deal with what is going on. Stop buying cookies and buy more fruit for snacks.
4. Buy only what I need and sell what I no longer need.
I know it is hard to deal with two major items at the same time, or maybe not. You can save money by not buying junk food or even eating less food. Walking, riding bike, or taking public transportation to events or even work can help you become healthy and save money at the same time. Losing weight can save on medical bills. I hear all the time how people are able to stop taking certain medications after losing weight and eating better.
What ways can you save money and become healthy at the same time?
